Boarding school in Ethiopia

While Ethiopia is currently undergoing transition in its educational system, with a significant increase in enrollment rates, disparity between the urban and the underdeveloped rural areas persists. Potential for improvement remains and much has yet to be achieved.

We believe that education is a tool for overcoming poverty and therefore serves as a major building block for a better standard of living that all children should enjoy. Ethiopia has one of the largest populations of orphans in the world. Out of the estimated 80 million people, about 4.5 million are orphans, a fifth of whom are orphaned by HIV/Aids.

In an effort to achieve our goals of assisting underprivileged children, RedChild’s current project involves the construction of a boarding school for orphans and street children of Ethiopia.

The project not only addresses the educational needs of the children but also provides for a stable family-oriented environment. At its initial phase, the school will enroll a maximum number of 80 children. Eventually, the project will expand to be able to accommodate up to 160 more children.

We are passionate about providing these children with adequate health care, physical and emotional security, a stable home and of course, a quality education that will enable them to become self-sufficient and productive members of society. There are many ways to change the life of a child. Support our cause in ensuring a better future for the children of Ethiopia.
